An APS Summary is a report based on an Attending Physician Statement listing significant conditions, excerpts of pertinent office notes, lab values, procedure reports and test results. After EMSI acquires an applicant’s complete APS, we provide an APS Summary to assist the underwriter in understanding the most relevant factors impacting the applicant. In essence, the APS Summary is a consolidated APS that highlights criteria relevant to the underwriting decision.
A Brokerage Assessment includes a detailed review of submitted APS and underwriting requirements. Compiled by our experienced underwriters (who specialize in brokerage and impaired risk underwriting), the assessment provides a detailed description of primary impairment and lifestyle factors of a case, insight into outstanding issues that need to be reconciled prior to submission to a carrier, a range of possible ratings and the ability to assist in obtaining initial and updates APSs.
