Suspicious Fire

Whether a carrier has found evidence of arson or there are suspicious circumstances, ICS Merrill investigators work with forensic experts to complete a thorough fire scene investigation, including identifying what type of accelerant may have been used to start a fire. An arson-for-profit case may involve either commercial or residential property or a motor vehicle.

Evidence of arson is often destroyed in the fire. Our investigators also conduct interviews to determine if the circumstances of the fire are suspicious (i.e., forced entry, color of smoke, remaining accelerant, multiple fire origins) or if the insured or anyone else had potential motive or opportunity to start a fire.
