Remembering Terry Savage
Terry Savage, EMSI’s chief underwriter, passed away on Wednesday, January 7. EMSI is deeply saddened both by the loss of such an accomplished leader in the underwriting industry and a valued friend. He brought to EMSI an insight and depth of understanding about underwriting that was incomparable in the industry. In his 38-year underwriting career, Terry served many diverse markets, including individual, small group and group excess life, major medical, disability income, long term care and life expectancies. He was a court-appointed medical analyst in Florida for viatical and life settlement companies placed in receivership and an associate member of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine. His expertise was admired by many and his personal camaraderie will be greatly missed.
